I’m a Sewanee-Angel-Mountain-Momma-DMV-Georgia-Peach.
I’m a photographer and a traveler with a really regular bank account.
My love for travel started really early on as I was born into a military family and even a trip to the grandparents’ house meant a 12-hour road-trip or a non-rev flight with my little brother. I can remember feeling so cool telling my friends that I was going to Tennessee for vacation. Even if it was just Tennessee, it was somewhere many of friends hadn’t been so it felt pretty exotic to me.
As I got a little older we traveled to Washington, California, Canada, New York, Florida, and eventually, in 2004 we went to Oahu. From that trip, I was hooked.
In 2007 I spent a month traveling from Italy to France to England. By the time I returned to the United States, I’d been to the Colosseum, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, The Vatican, The Sistine Chapel, Tuscany, The Louvre, The Eiffel Tower, The Palace of Versailles, Notre Dame, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. I’d seen The Mona Lisa and The Statue of David and the Changing of the Guard. I’d tossed a coin in the Trevi Fountain. I’d swam in the French Riviera and the Mediterranean Sea. I’d eaten real Italian spaghetti, pizza and gelato and I’d raised a flag for the lives lost on the beaches of Normandy.
My parents were worried I’d be too young to really appreciate the experience but even now I’m in awe of all that I had the opportunity to see and do at such a young age. It was on this trip that I really discovered my love for photography. (Check out that tilt, haha.)
Even after Europe, Hawaii was my favorite though. So…
For my 25th birthday we went to the Big Island of Hawaii. Six months later, we went again. And six months later, we went again.
People ask me all the time, “Aren’t you sick of Hawaii ?!” …so if you’re also wondering…heck no! And on that same note, please stay tuned for upcoming adventures on the island of Kauai (;
This year I am renewing my long expired passport, however, and hoping to get back at it!
If there is somewhere awesome that I need to go, please let me know. I don’t want to miss a thing.
